…Part II

This is part 2 of “…”

According to Webster Dictionary Blog: Pronunciation: \ˈblȯg, ˈbläg\Function: noun Etymology: short for Weblog Date: 1999: a Web site that contains an online personal journal with reflections, comments, and often hyperlinks provided by the writer.

As some of you may know Simplicity∞Beyond is not know for being a journal, but more of random segments of simple feeds of information/articles. Sometimes change is good. Adding that journal aspect gives us that sense of being human or having a soul. I left part one with this thought: “it’s not you it’s me” that’s what she said. So, a week or so has passed from the official ending of that escapade and I didn’t think it was going to be this hard to just go with the flow and move on. I recently stumbled across the artist G-Eazy and his albums. I don’t normally listen to a lot of rap but there is one track on his album “Must Be Nice” that stuck out to me more than the others. It’s called “Marilyn”.

G-Eazy Marilyn:

{Dominique LeJeune}

“I want to love you
But if it’s not right what can I do?
Everything will be alright
So baby get some sleep tonight.”

There is a gentlemen I met by the name of Sheim Francis at Edens Coffee House. He has done a few open mic performances there. His performance dazzled and inspired the crowd. After hearing who he was and his ability to paint a story solely on the words he spoken; it has inspired me to give it a try. He wrote a book called My Journey, Poetic. This is my attempt on being a poet, so be gentle.

The words that you once displayed
Through actions of compassion
Will never be forgotten
And The love I once had
Will never be depleted
Cause the way you looked at me like I was the only one
Lit up my world like a new found sun.

We use to talk all day,
Couldn’t fall asleep but couldn’t stay awake.
And every moment that I got,
Including my 930 to 11 O’clock was spent by your side.
We would lay around lazily, always having fun.
We were each other’s number one.
But I look at us now and see
We’ve fallen through the drain pipes.

Months went by filled with pure happiness and bliss
Time seemed to slow down
through every waking moment spent with you
and come to a standstill with every tender kiss
But in reality time died
I give it my condolences

Now we’re here distant and alone.
Without your warm embrace I’m in a snow storm
You meant the world to me
and I to you
I thought we both didn’t want us to end
But all I can do now
Is leave it in God’s hands.

“I want to love you
But if it’s not right what can I do?
Everything will be alright
So baby get some sleep tonight”

I want it,
you want it
so who are we fooling here.

“That’s why you and I ended over U N I
And I said that’s fine, but you’re the only one that knows I lied
You and I ended over U N I
And I said that’s fine, but you’re the only one that knows I lied”

We made each other happy
But now what can I do
Watch you in the arms of some other dude
He can’t make you as happy
And he can’t make you as free

I hope one day you see
These three months
Were just the beginning of you and me.

Coffee for the Soul.

I recently partnered up with some friends to start up a family friendly coffee shop.  It was quite a  leap of faith.  One of the partners told me to read this book A Lion in a Pit On a Snowy Day by Mark Batterson  Now, I’m not a very big reader, but someone once told me if you want to find out if a book is interesting,  read the first five pages.   I did and I am hooked on it and it is inspiring me to go after my dreams.  Eden’s Coffee House is a big part of my dreams.

Eden’s Coffee House is not just a coffee house full of amazing exotic aromas and mellow music; it’s also  house filled with magic.  Just joshin. It’s filled with LOVE.  Even if you’re just passing by, you still get that feeling of being accepted, feeling at home,  and feeling downright comfortable.  So far, we have an open mic event once a month.  At our last event, various artists performed.  Patrons were entertained by poetry and  music as they sipped on delicious coffee, ate  dessert, and mingled.

Manly enough…

Viewer discretion is advised

As I sit at home, with nothing to do. I gracefully but still nonchalantly made my way to the couch I turn on my TV and to what my discover, Shark Week.  I was super compelled to do this post.  Not because someone forced, but simply because I am a MAN!  And I apoligize for being somewhat late on this post.   And well lets be honest guys, sharks are-for lesser words-badass-excuse my vocabulary-.  Simply put sharks and specifically Great Whites are the most feared animal known to man.  What fascinates me about so much about this week is that you just seem to get a boost of testosterone.  You just seem to get manlier.  I don’t think there is a scientific reason on why this anomaly occurs but it does.  Something so simple and so primeval makes us seem more like men, gives us hair on our chest.  So congrats to Discovery for makes us feel more like men for 25 years.

Bartender Irony…

The irony that’s at the bar. Bartenders give you advice, but at the same time give you alcohol. They try to help you by giving you advice and yet they serve you alcohol to help you forget. Don’t get me wrong, that is their job and I do drink.; not heavy, but I’ll enjoy a drink every once in a while. From personal experience, bar-tending is very similar to a barber. Its not just about serving alcohol or cutting hair. They are mentors, confidants, friends, just great people with a bunch of wisdom.

“The method for enjoying spirits is different for each person. Talking with friends… Whispering with a lover… and tipping ones glass alone while in deep thought. Such a place where are people are gathered a bar. Spirits give birth to a story… and the story creates your drink.” –Bartender (anime)

And lets all be honest here…
For those who have seen the Dos Equis commercials, who wouldn’t want to walk in to a bar and see Jonathan Goldsmith? The most interesting man in the world. You can check that off your bucket list.

Little side note: I want to say a big thank you to Sunshine for giving me the idea to write this post. So Thank you Sunshine!

The Mentor of the counselor…

I love music. You could say it’s what makes the world go round. Music is everywhere. There is something mysterious about music. You’re feeling under the weather or just gloomy, you turn on your radio… and there it is the perfect song to lift your spirits, and make you feel alive. One thing I’ve always loved about music is how simple it can change your mood. Back when it was affordable to take road trips, my mom would put the radio to Delilah. People from around the nation would tune in to her. I personally believe she is the best disc jockey out there; not like techno or club dj’s but radio dj. Delilah has this way with her audience. She gives them this sense of security. She has a simple soft voice, like a comforting mother, as she gives genuine heart-felt advice.

Delilah gets calls in all the time from people either wanting to play a song or just good old fashion advice. And the song is the icing on the cake. Any problem you have whether its dealing with the loss of a loved one, to getting married to your true love; Delilah has the perfect song for you. And the song is always the perfect song like it was meant for you at that specific moment in time.

Takumi Fujiwara (藤原 拓海)?

The Legend of the 86 (頭文字)?

Mt. Akina Pass (榛名山)?

What do all of these questions have in common? Drift, Toyota Sprinter Trueno AE86, Tōge (form of drifting). Drifting is more of a driving skill: it’s a technique where the driver deliberately over-steers–causing loss of traction in the rear wheels–while maintaining control from entry to exit of a corner. It is simply amazing to see a car almost magically lose total control and yet manage to regain it before crashing.

Toyota Trueno is one quintessential drifting car. For many drifting enthusiasts, the Trueno became very well known through Initial D. Initial D started out as a manga but rapidly evolved into a long-running anime series that put a simple Toyota Sprinter Trueno GT-APEX (AE86) on this pedestal that is now untouchable by any other car.

Tōge/Touge() I think Touge is a simple way drifters can compete or just enjoy the scenery. There are three simple aspects to Toge: cat & Mouse, grip gambler, and time attack . Cat & Mouse is basically a simple game of chase: one driver has to chase and overtake the other or if the car spins out/crashes, the other wins. Grip gambler is almost like a drag race except there are turns involved. First one to finish wins. Lastly, is time attack which is pretty self-explanatory: the idea is to have the quickest time from start to finish.

Where I live in Florida, we have Formula Drift. For us FD is the closest thing we have to Touge. Every once in a while we will have an amateur event, but FD is the biggest.
