I recently started watching “Red Band Society”; don’t worry no spoilers in this post.(maybe a little) The drama series is about a bunch of kids with different aliments living together in a hospital under the pediatric wing. The interaction between these kids and how their lives have become so much more than just what they originally thought their lives would become. Each patience has a different story to tell through each step of their daily lives. Each of these patients gets treated, however; the nurses and the doctors that treat them also get treated by them. They teach them different life lessons. Each episode has a very strong heart felt meaning behind it.
On one of the episodes a character by the name of Leo Roth said something that resonated with me. “Every morning, you get out of bed, put two feet on the ground, and stand up Like it’s easy, like it’s nothing.
You put your pants on one leg at a time.
I mean, it’s such a basic concept it’s literally an expression.”
We don’t realize the simple things in life can effect us and change how we live. Don’t let everyday be the same as the last. Use that day to have an adventure, tell that person your care about how you truly feel about them, start goal, say whats been on your mind, walk up to that person you’ve want to talk to but were afraid, or forgive the one that hurt you. Whatever it may be don’t wait till tomorrow to do it. There might not be a tomorrow and remember don’t take things for granted.
Recently a few friends of mine have been giving me suggestion on what topics to write about. The latest is “write about the qualities you wish you had or who you could be more like if you could.” After pondering for a few ideas I came up with one that stands out.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
For those of you who are living under a rock… no pun intended; let me give you some background on who this man is.
His wrestling blood traces back to his grandfather, but spreads long and wide from uncles to cousins. Dwayne started football at a young age and then wrestling training in 1995. But The Rocks career doesn’t end there his ventured in multiple movies, his most famous “Fast and Furious” series/franchise. Not only has he done movies but he has also done TV shows like “The Hero”
So why Johnson?
Dwayne has this drive about him that puts him in a mind set of anything is possible and not to be discourage because failing or not succeeding the first time you attempt something. Coming from a fans’ stand point and looking into his star struck life he is very humble and even having a action based background it seems like he is a 6ft 5in 250+lbs teddy bear. The intensity under his lift eyebrow screams FOCUS. His determination to best the best at whatever his doing shines through. Dedication drives him to succeed and becoming the person he is today. “Success isn’t always about ‘greatness’. It’s about consistency. Consistent hard work gains success. Greatness will come.” – Dwyane Johnson.
The originally question “write about the qualities you wish you had or who you could be more like if you could.” ; those qualities are some I wish I had however being who I am and the qualities I posses may not be perfect or the best yet they’re mine and they make me, me. Don’t lose sight of who you are or what makes you, you. Your love ones see for who you are and they like you for it. There are going to be those who don’t like you,, but don’t try to please them. Be you in-spite of them. You are important and special and keep being you. Even when the road gets hard and you feel like quiting…
“Only when a hero is at his lowest can he become the greatest. That to me is the greatest super hero story of all time.” –
Most are familiar with the phrase “the grass is greener on the other side of the fence.” Why is that? Why is it we are never satisfied with what we have. Are we truly ever satisfied? Take religion out of the equation. Guys always want to have the better car or the prettiest girl. Girls always wanna have the most fabulous shoes and the most good looking guy. How do we know if we are satisfied with what we have?
I’m currently STILL single and most of my close of friends have a significant others and its funny because they’re jealous of me because I’m single and ,yet I’m jealous of them. When asked why they are jealous they all say its because they are free. “Nothing to do Nowhere to be A simple little kind of free.”-John Mayer. Very true, however; when they ask me why I’m jealous of them, it’s simple. You belong to someone and they belong to you. You have love and someone to share it with. Someone to come home to and if you had a rough day; them giving you the simple gesture of a smile and a kiss makes your day seem not so bad.
What I am still learning from looking at the other grass is; If you stare to long you forget to take care of your own grass. Granted I’m glance quite often ,however; I’m learning to only glance just to keep me motivated on what I truly want. And if I continue to take care of my grass it will grow to the point that people are glancing at my grass as motivation.
Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited; imagination encircles the world.
John Mayer’s song “The Great Indoors” is a very complex song with multiple stories/meanings behind it.
For most people the thought or idea about living life to the fullest naturally comes first. Some however become scared of getting hurt or the shreek at the thought of doing things they normally wouldn’t do. They get agoraphobia(panic disorder or anxiety) at the sheer thought.
I miss the days of having an adventure indoors. As a child you would build a fort in the living room out pillows, cushions and blankets. The good ol’ days. As an adult indoors don’t have the same impact on us as they us to. Our imagination isn’t the same. You sit on the couch alone watching tv when its raining. So whats missing from making the indoors the “great indoors”?
You might say a childhood mentality. John might say someone special to share the indoors with. The great indoors becomes great when you have someone to share it with. That person that changes your outlook on things that makes the indoors become a whole new world.
Don’t be afraid of having an adventure or venturing to the unknown. Life is full of wonderful people and wonderful memories waiting to share for you.
Congrats to my amazing friend and her fiance. I wish you both the best in the future you share together.
I had just this picture saved as a draft. It was a very curious picture that brought me a numerous amount of thoughts. As I was in my Earth Science class we reached the chapter on Astronomy. My professor told us something very humbling fact that hit home. The universe is so vast. We really cant phatom how vast it truley is. The nearest star system to our planet in the Milky Way is 4.234 light years way. Meaning that It would take light 4.234 years to travel from Earth to Proxima Centauri(Star System). If we were to travel 37,000 miles per hr it would take 80,000 years to reach.
He later on went on to describe A galaxy and what is made up of.
1: Super massive Black hole
2:100’s of 1000’s of billions of star systems
3:1000’s of billions ^10power of stars
4: to each star there’s a hand full or so of planets
Let me give you a compares as to the gravity of how many star systems there are in one galaxy…
One star system in a galaxy
One grain of sand on a beach.
Mind blowing… but it gets even better…
THERE’S ONLY ONE YOU IN ALL OF THE UNIVERSE
Special Thanks to Drew for getting me back on wordpress.
I stumbled upon this amazing video that somewhat got me choked up. Although it is easy to get me choked up. I got choked up from watching Beauty and the Beast. This video got me thinking about marriage. Many of my friends are getting married and trying to start a family so I began thinking of how I would propose if I had a wife.
The video proposal starts approximately at 1:26.
Many guys and girls have done some daring and amazing proposal. After watching a few more videos, I was rather paralyzed or un-gifted to come up with a proposal that can top that. Then I came to the realization that its not about how extravagant you propose but rather how genuine your proposal is. I feel that it must describe your personality as well as your partners’. Similar to your vows if you choose to personally write them.
Sometimes its not about the most elaborate or most extravagant proposal. Sometimes its about the simplest things. Let me me paint you a little picture.
Sunday morning, rain is falling. Just a nice sun shower. The sun is barely seeping through the cracks of the window blinds. The sun shine gracefully glides on to your face waking you up, but your not alone. You wake up next to your partner. They’re staring deeply into your eyes. They aren’t just looking at you. They’re looking at the past, present and future of the relationship you share together. All the good and bad memories flow through the passion in your eyes. They are staring into your soul. They smile and kiss you good morning. They’re nervous ,but calm; because they know they’re going to spend the rest of their life with you. Their mouth opens and the prefect proposal graces your heart like a beautiful symphony.
